Kate Meehan has been performing and lecturing in Commedia dell'Arte for nearly two decades. She has extensive improvisational training, the apex of which involved a personal mentorship with Martin deMaat, and has continuing education coursework with physical maestros from around the globe, including Antonio Fava, Joan Schirle, and many others. She currently serves as the Managing Director for La Fenice, a company producing Commedia dell'Arte distilled with American vaudeville and burlesque. She is a member of the Association of Theatre Movement Educators, and teaches mask, movement, Commedia dell'Arte and theatre history to many sizes of people. She has MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Texas State University, penned a chapter on context for a Routledge compendium on Commedia dell'Arte, and lectures internationally on Commedia dell’Arte and Gilded Age theatre in the contexts of class, gender and ethnic narratives.
